When she was in her early 20s she moved in Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Handler employed as an actor to earn a living for her family. Handler decided to pursue stand-up acting when she was 21, following the realization of the power of storytelling. Handler's career began as part of the all-female Oxygen television cast on the hidden camera/practical comedy reality show Girls Behaving Uncooperatively.
